A writer, screenwriter for cinema, television, and theater, film critic, poet, novelist, and translator from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amin Saleh has authored and translated numerous works across cinema, television, poetry, and literature. His recent publications include: Water and Its Shadows (novel, 2019), A Gentle Silence Like Nebulae (translations, 2019), Milan Kundera and the World as a Trap (2022), Media Violence in the Cinema of Michael Haneke (2021), The Aesthetics of Slowness – Nadine Mai (translation, 2022), Tsai Ming-liang: A Return to the Essence of Cinema (2022), Jean-Luc Godard… Before the Name, Before the Language (2023), and Ingmar Bergman – The Singular and the Multiple (2024). In recognition of his cultural contributions, he was awarded the First-Class Medal of Merit by His Majesty the King of Bahrain in 2007.
