A Syrian novelist and journalist, Khalil Sweileh has been active in Arab cultural journalism since the mid-1980s. He has published numerous works in fiction, poetry, and criticism. His novel The Remorse Test (2017) won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in 2018 and was translated into Ukrainian and German. His earlier novel Writing Love (2002) received the Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Arabic Literature in 2009 and was translated into English. In 2010, he was awarded the Dubai Prize for Journalism and Media. His latest publication, Tell Me Your Dream So I May See You — The Cinema of Mohammad Malas, was released in 2024 by Jusoor Al-Thaqafa Publishing and Distribution.
