Yasser Mousa is an Iraqi writer who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Baghdad, College of Arts. His work focuses on research related to cinema and its visual language.
He is a teacher at the Ministry of Education, a photographer, and a maker of short films. He has received several awards for directing and screenwriting, including the Jury Prize at the Malmö Arab Film Festival (Sweden), the Audience Award and Best Film Award at the Baghdad International Film Festival, a Special Jury Mention at the Oran International Film Festival (Algeria), the Audience Award at the Arab Film Festival in Germany, and the Best Film Award at the Paris Arab Film Festival, among many other honors and participations in major international festivals.
