A Tunisian academic and film critic, Ahmed Al-Qasimi has authored numerous works in the field of film criticism, including The Documentary Film: On the Aesthetics of Creation and Reception – Pioneering Scientific Experiences, published by the Saudi Film Festival in its ninth edition. He has also written two novels and a play and currently teaches “Semiotics of Literature and Cinema” at the University of Manouba. His latest publication, The Palm Grove at the Hour of Vigil – A Semiotic-Pragmatic Reading of the Golden Palm-Winning Films at the Saudi Film Festival (2008–2023), was released by Jusoor Al-Thaqafa Publishing and Distribution in 2024.
