A Saudi writer and film critic, Al-Khawaji has written on films, fiction, video games, and music for Al-Riyadh newspaper, and previously contributed to Al-Watan, Asharq Al-Awsat, and Al-Hayat. He has published two books: The Anime Castle: An Infiltration Experience and The Player at the Gates of Dawn. He also co-hosts the program Cinemac on Al-Thaqafiya Channel and Shahid, alongside poet and writer Manal Al-Owaibeel.
